Toyota Motor Europe (TME) has announced that it expects to create a further 100 jobs at its Belgian headquarters and research centre close to Brussels Airport. President and CEO Didier Leroy explains: “The new Toyota Global Vision places Europe at the centre of planning for future small and medium sized cars. The recruitment plans we have just announced will enable us to strengthen our European teams in all departments in order to develop future strategic models for Toyota. Over the next two years we are planning to launch no less than 25 new or revised Toyota and Lexus models in Europe”. Toyota employs 2,500 persons in Belgium, and in 2010 sold over 800,000 models of the two brands in Europe.
