2009 sales 11% down in Belgium
|
Figures provided by industry association Febiac show that a good December helped total registrations of new cars for 2009 in to record a decrease of only around 11% compared to 2008. Sales in the last month stood at 26,449, which is 21% up on the same month last year. Total sales for the year were just over 476,000, and the Febiac is forecasting a very similar figure for 2010, with an improvement being seen in the first half, helped by the Motor Show being held in Brussels in January. In brand terms, the top 4 are the same as last year, but the order has changed, with Renault moving up from 4th to 1st and VW doing the opposite. Peugeot and Citroën come second and third, as last year.
