The Fleet Europe Hall of Fame recognizes fleet industry leaders who have significantly contributed to the international fleet management profession.It was Gianluca Soma, Chairman of ALD International, who became the 2011 inductee to the Fleet Europe Hall of Fame. The award was handed over by Elena Delgado, Head of Fleet Sales & Remarketing at SEAT.
Gianluca Soma started his career in 1984 in management consulting with Ernst & Young. He has executed various management and director functions in leasing and fleet management. He joined Hertz Lease Italy as CEO in 2000. Following the purchase of Hertz Lease by Societe Generale Group in 2002, Gianluca Soma served as Group Regional Director and later Deputy CEO of ALD Automotive Group. He was appointed CEO of ALD International in March 2008 and in October 2010 he became Chief Executive Officer of Societé Generale Consumer Finance. In May 2011 he was appointed Chairman of ALD International.
