Award for Peugeot iOn
|
The 100% electric Peugeot iOn has been awarded first prize in the ‘2010 Auto Environment Grand Prix’ organised by MAAF Insurance. The prize is allocated by a jury of journalists, and goes to vehicles and technologies designed to protect the environment. This 4-door, 4-seater car will be available at the end of 2010. It features zero emissions, running costs of around € 1.50 per 100 km (which approximately equates to a fuel consumption of 1 litre per 100 km) and will be available at a rental price of under € 500 per month. The rental covers the car, battery, maintenance, assistance and service. The iOn develops power of 47 kW (64 bhp), with 180 Nm of torque. Its range of 150 km and its top speed of 125 km/h make it ideal for journeys in and around town, according to Peugeot. Recharging from flat to fully charged takes 6 hours on a standard 220V socket. A charge of 80% can be obtained in 30 minutes from a rapid recharge point.
