Bridgestone wins Tire Technology of the Year Award

 Bridgestone has been rewarded the ‘Tire Technology of the Year Award for its Contact Area Information Sensing technology (CAIS). Bridgestone Corporation received the award after an evaluation of the jury, composed by 21 tyre professionals, on February 15 at the Tire Technology International Awards for Innovation and Excellence.
The CAIS system provides real-time road surface condition information to the driver by way of the tyres. This technology collects and evaluates road surface condition information via a sensor located inside the tyre tread. The technology classifies the state of the road surface into 7 conditions : dry, semi-dry, wet, slush, fresh snow, and ice. “We are extremely proud to have won this award”, commented Mr Morimoto, Vice President and Senior Officer at Bridgestone Corporation.
