ALD Automotive launches new car retail platform Qigo

Looking for a second-hand car? Check out Qigo, a new online platform, launched by fleet management and leasing company ALD Automotive but dedicated to the retail market. For now, Qigo focuses on selling selected used cars to private customers in Denmark. At a later stage, the platform will be rolled out internationally and will complement its offer of used cars for purchase with private lease options.

Qigo prides itself on a uniquely digital experience, with the entirety of the selection and purchase process completed online. The only offline element is the final stage – home delivery of the purchased second-hand vehicle.

Customer-centric
Not only does Qigo replicate the ease of purchase of the online retail customer has come to expect for clothes, books and other product categories, it also includes the option of returning the purchased item free of charge within a two-week frame, if the vehicle does not live up to customer expectations.

The platform allows the customer to target their search for a vehicle that fits their budget and preference. Uniquely, all visuals are of the cars on sale themselves – images are taken with a special 360° camera, providing detailed views of the specific vehicles – and any flaws, which are also included in the technical report. ALD Automotive has invested €120,000 in the required imaging equipment. The prospective buyer also has access to all relevant technical info and the vehicle's complete maintenance history.

Purchases are concluded via electronic contract, signed on the website. Payment is processed online, followed by delivery at the address specified by the customer. Live chat is available throughout the entire process, to smooth out any wrinkles.

Qigo.dk was launched on 3 January, and has since had 250,000 page views by 24,000 individual visitors. If the Danish trial proves successful, Qigo will be launched throughout Europe.
