Athlon employees share e-bikes and cars

Athlon is trialling new mobility modes with a very knowledgeable test audience – its own employees. At Athlon HQ in the Netherlands, employees can participate in Bike2Athlon and Car2Use.

Bike2Athlon offers shared electric bicycles, enabling office workers with a relatively short commute to leave their vehicle at home for the day. E-biking to work reduces congestion, and has health obvious benefits. Interested employees can reserve an e-bike via an online platform. Athlon ensures that the batteries are charged. And the employees receive a compensation for their effort.

Car2Use is a similar system, for sharing cars. The vehicle can be reserved when needed and opened via an app. Using the formula helps Athlon staff convince customers of the advantages – one of which is that they only pay for actual use, making for a more efficient use of corporate vehicles. A large part of the Car2Use fleet is electric, both enhancing the cost-effectiveness and minimising the environmental impact of the fleet.
