BP is in talks with various EV manufacturers to install fast-chargers at its fuel stations, BP CEO Bob Dudley has confirmed to Reuters.
The oil company projects there will be 100 million electric vehicles on the road by 2035, out of a total of 1.8 billion vehicles worldwide. By offering recharging facilities at its fuel stations, BP hopes to capture a significant part of this market. Earlier, competitor Shell had announced similar plans.
BP is already experimenting with fast-chargers: four locations in the Netherlands have been equipped with them since 2011.
