Germany's True Fleet Market returns to growth
After a disappointing February (-6.7%), Germany's True Fleet market improved spectacularly in March, with double-digit growth (+10.1%). Thanks to this, the Q1 result was a healthy +4.4%, which was still below the total market figure of +6.7%, figures compiled and released by Dataforce show.
Despite impressive growth from Opel (+56.8%) and Renault (+80.9%), the first nine positions in the manufacturers Top 10 for True Fleets remained unchanged. Toyota (+57.0%) overtook Nissan for 10th place, achieving its highest market share since March 2008. This was the result of excellent sales figures for the all-new C-HR, but the Auris and Aygo also sold well.
Outside the Top 10, Citroën jumped up 72.8% from 21st to 14th place, mainly thanks to the Berlingo (+237%), which represented almost half of Citroën's True Fleet registrations in March.
A bit further down the ranking, both Jaguar and Tesla scored their best results ever on the German True Fleet market, in terms of both volume and market share – thanks to the F-Pace and F-Type (+367%), which jumped to second place in the True Fleet Sportscar segment, behind the Porsche 911. The Model X represented one-third of Tesla's True Fleet registrations in March, a much higher share than in the Private market. With more than 200 registrations, the Model S ranked second behind the BMW 7 Series in the True Fleet Luxury Car segment, ahead of the Porsche Panamera, Mercedes S Class and Audi A8, to name but a few competitors. In the Private market, the Model S even was #1 in both February and March.
The graph lists the Top 10 most popular electric cars in the True Fleet segment in Germany this March, with the Tesla Model S firmly in the lead.
