VW reveals CC successor Arteon

Volkswagen Arteon

Volkswagen expands its line-up upwards with a sporty four-door coupé based on the Passat. It inaugurates the new design language of the brand, featuring a protruding radiator grille, sleek LED headlights and strong shoulders. With a total length of 4.86 metres, it is 6 centimetre longer than its predecessor, resulting in more interior space.

The interior is largely carried over from the current Passat, including a virtual dashboard. New is the infotainment system featuring a 9.2” touch screen and gesture control. Amongst the safety innovations is a system that can lead the car towards the emergency lane and bring it to a hault when the driver is unwell.

Powertrains include the new 1.5 TSI petrol engine introduced by the Golf, a 2.0 TSI and three versions of the 2.0 TDI (150, 190 or 240 hp). Automatic DSG transmissions and all-wheel drive are available as an optional extra. The first units of the new Arteon, which is built in Dresden, will leave the factory in June.
