Fiat Powertrain Technology to produce MultiAir engine in Poland
Share
Fiat engine production arm, Fiat Powertrain Technology, has announced it is investing 400 million EUR into the extension of its Polish plant in the southern city of Bielsko-Biala. It is already home to the joint Fiat/GM Powertrain operation that builds diesel engines. Fiat Powertrain Technologies will now also produce the 900cc SGE (Small Gasoline Engine) in the factory from next year. Thanks to the MultiAir technology, the engine will result in 10 percent more power and 10 percent less fuel. The new system also cuts carbon dioxide emissions by between 10 and 25 percent, with up to a 60 per cent reduction in other engine pollutants. Full production should reach half a million units per year.(AD)
