Fiat is number one in Brazil for the first five months of the year. The Italian car manufacturer sold 60,628 vehicles in May. This represents a 25.5 percent market share, ahead of Volkswagen (55,000 untis) and General Motors (47,000 units).
Fiat Automoveis has just produced its 10 millionth car in Brazil, a Fiat Palio 2010 MY. Fiat has been building cars and light commercial vehicles in the country since 1976. Today its factory in Betim, one of the biggest car plants in the world, produces 15 different models and hundreds of different versions, with a daily production of more than 3,000 vehicles.
