Fiat and Sollers have announced a strategic partnership in the form of a joint venture for the production of cars and SUV’s. The production target is 500,000 vehicles per year by 2016. Nine new models will be marketed in . At least 10% of production will be exported. The existing Sollers production plant at Naberezhnye, around 1,000 km east of Moscow, will be expanded for this operation.
