Huawei partners with Chinese GAC

Huawei, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of communications equipment and smart phones, will be working together with Guangzhou Automobile Group to develop connected and self-driving vehicles. 

Both companies will reportedly also design electric vehicles and develop technologies for cloud computing. The cooperation between GAC and Huawei is expected to accelerate the pace of technological breakthroughs in intelligent and internet-connected vehicles.

“Cooperation with Huawei will be a boost to realize GAC's goal of manufacturing vehicles featuring electric, and are internationalized and internet-connected," said GAC president Zeng Qinghong. Both sides will also carry out a series of trainings and exchanges in strategic planning, technologies, marketing and practices, according to the cooperation agreement.
