Fuel being wasted through poor driving and recording
|
Telematics company Timble MRM has carried out a survey which shows that companies are wasting substantial amounts of money on unnecessary fuel expenses, due to poor driving habits. Bad record keeping makes the problem worse, according to Timble. In order to eliminate inaccuracies, the company advocates that real time data is collected from individual vehicles, with these in turn able to be identified to specific drivers. In terms of HGV’s the company estimates that a truck covering 60,000 miles annually at an average of 8 miles to the gallon (35 litres/100km) may be able to save over £6,000 per year if better habits were instilled.
