Catalonia's Interior Ministry is investing €35 million to replace its fleet of vehicles for the Autonomous Police. ING Car Lease Spain will rent out 1,168 new vehicles in two phases, June to August. The deal represents a saving of 19% on the projected cost, i.e. a windfall of €8.1 million. This is the largest acquisition in the history of the Catalan police, and the biggest leasing deal this year in Spain.
The agreement is good for the environment, as the new cars will be significantly greener than the ones they replace. It is also beneficial to the local economy, as 93% of the vehicles are manufactured in Spain, and 97% will be processed in workshops in Catalonia.
