Knut Krösche: LeasePlan sale won't affect Volkswagen Financial Services

The recent sale of LeasePlan, which was 50% owned by Volkswagen Group, will have no effect on the strategy of Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS), says Knut Krösche, Head of International Fleet at Volkswagen Financial Services.

“Both our short and mid-term strategies were defined earlier, and we are on our way to executing them successfully, with an increase in our portfolio, an international expansion and the development of innovative and client-friendly tools for fleet management and reporting”, says Knut Krösche.

Volkswagen Financial Services will continue to aim for its targets, and the fact that LeasePlan is no longer its parent group's 'other daughter' will change nothing: “When Volkswagen was shareholder of LeasePlan there has always been a clear distinction, a sort of Chinese wall between the two lease companies when it comes to sharing inside information, in respect of each others business and in line with business ethics”.

One thing has changed, though: “It is now clear who is The car lease partner for the Volkswagen Group - Volkswagen Financial Services”.
