Kwik-Fit investing in new outlets
|
Kwik-Fit, whose takeover by Japanese operator Itochu has recently been announced and approved, is embarking on an investment programme. It is planning to open 10 new outlets in the UK this year, and a similar number in 2012. This follows 15 openings in 2010. The total number of Kwik-Fit outlets will thus be approaching 700, and the company has a mobile fleet consisting of 200 vehicles to complement the static outlets. Alongside its traditional tyre and brake replacement services, Kwik-Fit is now seeing increased activity in vehicle servicing and British ‘Technical Control’ (MOT) work. Both were up by over a third during the first quarter of 2011, compared to the same period in 2010.
