LEAF is World Car of the Year
|
The all electric Nissan LEAF has been crowned 2011 World Car of the Year at the New York International Auto Show. The LEAF came ahead of the BMW 5-Series and Audi A8. The news delighted Nissan Chairman and CEO Carlos Ghosn, who has already seen the electric car receive a number of accolades since its launch. “It is a great joy that the world’s first mass marketed electric vehicle has won this prestigious title”. The LEAF has a range of 160 km and takes 8 hours to recharge on a household circuit.
