Masterview reveals dirty interiors to fleet managers
|
The ‘Masterview’ inspection system of vehicle management company FleetSupport is revealing some extremely bad treatment of company vehicles by their drivers. The pictures taken (including the one shown here) are transmitted live to fleet managers. These pictures are taken when cars go into a maintenance depot for a service or other work. Fleet Support states that in some cases the condition of the vehicles – with various sorts of rubbish all over the footwells and seats – is so bad that service technicians refuse to work on them until they are cleaned.
The condition of company vehicles at the end of their contract period has a substantial influence on the residual value, itself making up a major part of the TCO. It is therefore very much in fleet managers’ interests to ensure that drivers look after their vehicles correctly, including keeping them clean. Fleet managers do not always have the opportunity to inspect remote vehicles personally, and Masterview is intended to help them in this.
