The Technical University of Munich has developed a car concept for electric urban mobility. A pilot project is designed to lead to the mass availability of the vehicle in the near future. With this objective, a prototype of the ‘MUTE’ vehicle is expected to be exhibited at the IAA show in Frankfurt , with real time testing in 2011. The advantages of the vehicle are said to be reduced costs and a reduced weight, which means it will fall into vehicle category L7E, with a maximum weight of 400kg and maximum power output of 15 kW. Enhanced battery management along with safety and cooling devices, are also part of the package. New battery types are also a possibility.
