Customers of Autorola Group can now use a system called Mobile Bidding to place an online bid on used vehicles put up for auction.
Mobile Bidding uses a global online remarketing portal that not only allows users to bid via mobile smartphone or tablet, but also alerts them via email or SMS when they are outbid, and when the auction is about to end.
The functionality is now online in Europe’s Big Five Markets (France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the UK) and in seven further countries (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Poland, Portugal, Austria and the Netherlands).
The official launch of Mobile Bidding follows a two-month pilot which saw a high volume of bids and sales, especially for smaller national and international buyers with broader roles than just buying.
“Buyers are often very time-poor, and we have seen they have really benefited from this initiative. The biggest trend so far is buyers purchasing used vehicles cross-border,” explained Morten Holmsten, Autorola Group’s global sales director.
Mobile Bidding should be up and running in Autorola Group’s other markets in the next few months.
