Belgian greens want mobility budget of up to €2.780 for all

The Belgian green parties Ecolo and Groen have weighed in on the mobility budget, approved by the Belgian government last year. The official suggestion was to accord a budget of €450 for each employee now entitled to a company car. The greens want to expand the proposal to all employees, and increase the amount to at least €700. The amount should vary in relation to the commuting distance and the multimodality of the trip, and could go up to €2,780 according to a joint proposal by the two green parties. The scheme would be financed by reducing the fiscal advantage for company cars.
