GE 'excited' about sale of fleet management business

Today's news about the sale of GE Capital's fleet business activities to the Alliance Element-Arval demands for a reaction of GE Capital. In a first reaction to Fleet Europe and Global Fleet, GE says to be “excited” about the sale of the bulk of its fleet management activities to Element and Arval. The company would like to stress that it is working hard to ensure that the proposed transaction minimises any disruption to its fleet customers – who will remain the heart and reason of its professional activities throughout the transition period.

In a statement, GE says: “This is a key step in the execution of GE’s strategy to create a simpler, more valuable industrial company. Between now and close, GE Capital will continue to finance vehicles and deliver services with the attention to detail that our customers have come to expect”.

“We are excited about the sale and signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. Pending works council approval where applicable, the strategic buyers are committed to investing and growing in the fleet industry and our customers will benefit from the combined strength and expertise of these businesses. They can expect to receive the high level of technological innovation and customer service they have come to expect from us”.
