Peugeot is to continue equipping its vehicle with low emissions Euro-5 compliant engines. This move in particular involves the 1.6 HDi FAP which was developed earlier this year. This trend towards ecological friendliness also comes at a time when the all electric iOn is about to be marketed, along with the diesel hybrids named ‘e-HDi’. The new generation of HDi FAP engines will at first make an appearance in the 207 and 308, while the 3008 and 5008 will receive the two litre version. Peugeot has invested around 1.5 billion Euros in developing these engines. In another move to try and attract fleet and private business from higher up the prestige ladder, Peugeot has also recently announced its new 508 saloon and estate.
