Portugal fast charge stations

go back print this page     send page by mail     Comments

The Portuguese electric car charging point programme, MOBI.E, is to see an extra 100 fast charging points added to the network. At full speed, these charging stations can fully recharge an electric vehicle battery in one hour. The order for these 100 stations is part of a framework order for a total of 300 such stations. The charging point is a Siemens development using normal AC power. In time, the joint venture set up between utility company Oracle and Inteli within the MOBI.E. programme is set to see some 1,350 charging stations across Portugal, of which 50 will be the ‘fast charge’ type. Portugal has also pointed out that it already produces some 43% of its electricity from renewable sources, making electric car driving even ‘greener’.
