Record sales for BMW
|
BMW achieved record sales figures of 1.67 million vehicles in 2011, an increase of 14.2% over the previous year, and beating the 2007 record of 1.51 million units. The company says it expects to follow this up with good figures in 2012. Quoted in Automotive News Europe, the group’s CEO Norbert Reithofer said he expected BMW to outperform the overall car market during this year. The major part of the sales figure was achieved with the BMW brand itself, which achieved 1.38 million units, 12.8% up on 2010. The other brands in the portfolio are Mini and Rolls Royce.
