Saab in new Chinese talks

go back print this page     send page by mail     Comments

Saab has announced that it is talking to a Chinese bank and a Chinese manufacturer about a possible rescue deal. These are Bank of China and Zhejiang Youngman Lotus Automobile respectively. In a statement issued by Swedish Automobile (previously Spyker Cars), which owns Saab, the company indicated that one of the initial benefits would be to enable November wages to be paid and company reorganisation to continue. The eventual outcome appears to still be uncertain, but former owners GM still have an interest in the company and are still supplying parts for manufacture – a situation which would end once new ownership is agreed.
