Seat to head green car project
|
The Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (CDTI) has granted a subsidy of 40 million Euros to Seat for the development of electric and hybrid vehicles. Within the framework of this project, Seat will lead a programme involving other major players from the automotive sector. The project (Proyecto Verde), which will be rolled out over the next four years, is designed to result in the production of plug-in hybrids and electric cars in , giving a boost to a sector which has suffered greatly during the crisis. Amongst the sixteen other companies taking part are Cegasa, Siemens, Lear, ACS, Iberdrola and Endesa. Universities and technology centres will also play a role.
