In the Netherlands the mobility budget is considered more attractive than the lease car. These are the results of a survey commissioned by insurance company Achmea and carried out by research bureau TNS-NIPO.
The survey shows that 6 in 10 Dutch people questioned would be interested in financial compensation for travelling to and from work several times a week before or after the rush hour; they would also car pool if it brought in sufficient remuneration. Over half those questioned would be happy to leave their car at home if their employer reimbursed travel expenses for public transport and handed over what remained of the mobility budget.
A third of those questioned (34%) prefer driving to work by company car.
