Toyota in wireless recharge agreement

Toyota Motor Corporation has concluded an agreement with WiTricity of Massachussets, involving the wireless recharging of plug in hybrid and electric vehicles. The technology used is based on inductive linking via resonance, which offers superior yields to electro-magnetic induction. The system being developed by TMC and WiTricity does not require physical contact between the charging point and the vehicle, and thus provides more flexibility. TMC is also set to take a financial stake in WiTricity
