Toyota - no electronic problem

go back print this page     send page by mail     Comments

Six months of investigations by the American safety organism NHTSA have concluded that the electronics systems in Toyota cars were not responsible for the sudden acceleration problems encountered in some models. The manufacturer has had to recall some 8.5 million models for checks over recent times, a significant number of these for problems related to the accelerator pedal. The conclusion by the body was that the sudden acceleration problems had ‘no electronic origin’ and were mechanical in nature, possibly even involving the carpet or driving errors.
