The Volkswagen group has announced a significant increase in profits for the first half of 2010, worldwide operating profits rising by € 1.6 billion to € 2.8 billion worldwide. The company delivered 3.6 million vehicles during the period, up from 3.1 million the previous year. These sales generated total revenues of

€ 61.8 billion. The group’s global market share is also marginally up, now standing at 11.7%.
