A report in Firmenauto asks whether Volkswagen is planning a large scale entry into the car sharing market. Quoting the ‘Financial Times Deutschland’ the automotive magazine says that Volkswagen may be considering entering this market through a takeover of Euromobil, a rental company. The company in question has been in operation for some twenty years, and is owned by Auto Business group, behind which can be found Volkswagen and Audi dealers. This potential move – about which a Volkswagen spokesperson would not comment to Firmenauto, follows the recent announcement of the launch of the Quicar scheme in Hanover.
