Vodafone and Geotab partner for better fleet management

Vodafone Business and Geotab have concluded a strategic collaboration agreement, the result of which is the creation of Vodafone Business Fleet Analytics, aimed at improving fleet management. The news was released at the start of the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show 2019.

Vodafone Business Fleet Analytics combines Vodafone's capabilities in automotive connectivity and service delivery and its leadership in vehicle safety and security with Geotab's advanced open fleet telematics platform.

Actionable insights
Increasingly, fleet management is about caring for your employees. Vodafone Business Fleet Analytics uses vehicle data to generate actionable insights that allow fleet managers to monitor and enhance the safety, performance and security of their drivers.

Another trend in fleet management is the rise of shared mobility, with companies sharing the idle vehicles in their fleet with the public or with other companies, as rental cars. Vodafone Business Fleet Analytics can maximise this potential new revenue stream, in a wide range of sectors, from construction over car rental to leasing, and more.

Device manufacturing
Vodafone Business Fleet Analytics will launch in all European markets currently served by Vodafone Automotive, starting with France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain and the UK. Under the agreement, Geotab will also benefit from Vodafone Automotive's expertise in device manufacturing.

Vodafone Business is a global leader in IoT, with more than 85 million connected devices worldwide. “By working together with Geotab, we'll not only support our customers in boosting the efficiency and safety of their fleets, but also by introducing new and sustainable mobility models,” says Gion Baker, CEO of Vodafone Automotive.

Geotab is an innovative fleet management and telematics company with a global reach. “As we continue to invest in EVs, big data and connected vehicle solutions, this partnership with Vodafone helps to deliver a complete solution by combining our respective strengths,” added Neil Cawse, CEO of Geotab.

Geotab is also sponsor of the 2019 Fleet Europe Summit in Estoril, on 6 and 7 November where technology and AI are key topics. For more information about this year's Fleet Europe Summit, click here.
