Volvo XC40 elected Lease Car of the Year 2018

Lease company and business mobility provider Alphabet in Belgium organized for the 26th time the election “Lease Car of the Year”. Overall winner was the Volvo XC40. The newest Volvo SUV was also voted “best in class” in the category Business +.The car made a great impression on the jury due to its safety, level of finish and quality.

Marc Vandenbergh,  Director Sales & Marketing Alphabet Belgium and chairman of the jury, handed out the Award to Alain Peers, Fleet Manager of Volvo Car Belux. More than 300 customers and partners of Alphabet Belgium attended the election night in Brussels.

The Lease Car of the Year competition is the ideal occasion for Alphabet to share its expertise with vehicle fleet managers in the areas of TCO, sustainability and trend-watching. Vehicles put on the Belgian market between 1 February 2017 and 31 January 2018 are assessed according to their potential for corporate vehicle fleets. The jury, consisting of members of the press, Alphabet customers and internal specialists of Alphabet Belgium, nominated 12 cars in 4 categories for this year’s edition.

Special Prize for Nissan Leaf
In the “Economy” category, the Ford Fiesta was the winner thanks to its favourable TCO values and high safety and quality scores.

The Nissan Leaf won in the Business segment. This 100% electric car was also awarded the “Special Prize of the Jury”. On the test day the jury was unanimously charmed by the handling, comfort and finish of this second generation.

In the “Executive” category, the Volvo XC60 was elected best in class with strong scores on safety and fuel consumption. 

From the four "best in class" winners, the Volvo XC40 got the highest scores , hence is the new Lease Car of the Year.

Alphabet International currently manages a fleet of over 680,000 vehicles in 21 countries, of which 51,000 vehicles in Belgium.
