ALD/LeasePlan appoints Patrick Sommelet to the Board

ALD Automotive | LeasePlan has announced the appointment of Patrick Sommelet as Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DGA) and Group Chief Financial Officer, reporting to Tim Albertsen, Chief Executive Officer. 

His appointment is effective as of 1 September 2023. Previously Deputy Chief Financial Officer of Societe Generale, he replaces Gilles Momper, who will continue his career outside the Group.

After beginning his career on the trading floor of Credit Commercial de France, Sommelet acquired considerable financial experience before joining Societe Generale (ALD’s parent company) in 2000 and working his way up to Deputy Chief Financial Officer.  

Tim Albertsen, Chief Executive Officer, thanked Momper for his service to the company and said of Sommelet’s appointment: “I am pleased to welcome Patrick Sommelet as Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DGA) and Group Chief Financial Officer. Patrick brings considerable experience and expertise in finance to ALD Automotive | LeasePlan, which will fully support our transformation going forward as the company enters a new phase of development.
