Royal DSM wins International Mobility Management Award 2016

Royal DSM, the global science-based company specialised in Health and Nutrition, was rewarded with the Smart Mobility Management Award 2016 for its dedicated focus on sustainability with regard to employee mobility and vehicle fleet management. Global Mobility Manager Daan Bieleveld accepted the award out of the hands of Ralf Kostrewa, Head of Group Fleet Sales International of Volkswagen Group.

Daan Bieleveld convinced top management and stakeholders at Royal DSM to turn the car-centric fleet approach into a mobility approach with room for innovation. Sustainability is key for Daan Bieleveld as Global Mobility Manager. Since 2014, he has developed within Royal DSM a programme that includes various mobility initiatives like car sharing, bike sharing, private lease, public transport flexibility, next to the company car. The goal is to increase employee productivity via satisfaction and multi-modality based on the mobility profile of the employees. The result is a CO2-reduction of 20% and a damage reduction of 18% in the company fleet that only counts 1,750 company cars for 21,000 employees. So also cost wise the Royal DSM mobility approach is fruitful. As a next step Daan Bieleveld examines the introduction of a true Mobility Budget approach with the introduction of tools and apps to allow employees to easily choose, book and pay the Green Mobility Solutions offered.
