Alain van Groenendael confirmed as speaker at the Fleet Europe Summit
Alain van Groenendael, CEO, Arval, has been confirmed as a speaker at the Fleet Europe Summit on 6 and 7 November in Estoril, Portugal. Be there and discover what he has to say about the future of mobility.
The appointment of Alain van Groenendael as the new CEO of Arval at the start of this year also ushered in a new era for the company: the transformation from car lease specialist to mobility provider.
This transformation is already happening today, as evidenced by Arval’s accession to the Mobility as a Service Alliance. Not only is Mr van Groenendael developing a strategy to continue Arval’s growth path, he also looks forward to introducing connected mobility and autonomous vehicles - vehicles that will increasingly be powered by alternative powertrains.
Mr van Groenendael (57) took over as the CEO of Arval at the start of 2019, following a seven-month ‘total immersion course’ alongside his predecessor Philippe Bismut. He joined the BNP Paribas Group in 2008 as head of both international affairs and sales & marketing at Cetelem Bank, the BNP Paribas branch specialising in consumer credit. For three years, the Belgian served as the bank’s president.
Following spells in England and the Netherlands, Mr van Groenendael has been in Paris for almost twenty years now. With a diploma from ICHEC and a degree in commercial engineering from Saint-Louis University (both in Brussels), he knows what makes the banking world tick.
As the CEO of one of the largest leasing companies, he is ambitious, innovative and passionate about the international development of his company and the industry. Another reason to attend the 2019 Fleet Europe Summit!
