New European Fleet Procurement Manager at Ecolab

Malgorzata Czerwiec-Ibrom has been appointed European Fleet Procurement Manager at Ecolab, a global sustainability leader offering water, hygiene and infection prevention solutions and services. In her new role she reports to Almy Magalhaes, Senior Manager Procurement Indirects and Services.

Malgorzata is replacing Guillaume Pin, winner of the European Fleet & Mobility Manager of the Year Award and the European Fleet Procurement Manager of the Year Award 2023, who succeeds his career at Ecolab in North America.

Malgorzata has had successful procurement career spanning 15 years managing various strategic categories on both a regional and global level.

Why did you move to Ecolab?

"It was the right time to take on a new challenge after having worked in multiple roles for Danone over the last 10 years. Ecolab has a strong focus on sustainability, which is very close to my purpose and also allows me to create a positive impact in business and in society. Equally important, Ecolab has offered me the opportunity to pursue my career and develop myself further in the area of Procurement, allowing me to continue building strategic relationships.

Your role is different to what you have done previously at Danone, right?

"Yes, at Danone I focused predominantly on packaging and logistics. So fleet is quite new to me, but I'm bringing my experience from other areas to further solidify the strategic fleet approach that is already in place. Fleet is a mature category at Ecolab and very important to our overall business. When it comes to scope, I manage 4,600 vehicles in 29 European countries."

What are your main objectives at Ecolab?

"First and foremost, it is about sustainability and reducing the carbon footprint, which is at the core of Ecolab´s focus. For fleet, that means concentrating on electrification – we are on our way to increase the share of electric vehicles with implementation planned for several countries in Europe in 2024. Fleet electrification is aligned with Ecolab´s commitment to achieve net-zero across our value chain by 2050. The other area of my focus is strengthening governance.¨
