Italians have increasing appetite for private lease

Some 40,000 consumers in Italy are now driving a car as part of a long-term rental contract, Italian mobility service association Aniasa says. By the end of the year, the private lease market is expected to hit the 50,000 mark.

Apart from the added convenience, Aniasa highlights that consumers benefit from financial advantages as well. On average a consumer who leases a vehicle can save some 15% compared to buying the vehicle, the organisation reckons.

A study performed by Bain&Company revealed that people who lease do so for work reasons, to commute or to replace the second car in the family. The typical customer has a good income and is interested in electric mobility.
