Leasys to provide at least 4,000 vehicles to Italian police
FCA’s finance and mobility service provider Leasys has been awarded an important tender in Italy. Over the next 18 months, the national security service will be ordering 2,250 cars in institutional livery, 1,000 in standard colours plus 250 cars and 500 vans in standard outfit. That makes for a total of 4,000 vehicles, but the frame agreement can be extended for 12 months to a maximum of 5,600 vehicles.
Interestingly, the vehicles will not be purchased, but put at the disposal of the police as part of a long-term rental contract with durations ranging from five to eight years.
It is not known which type of vehicles will be ordered by the Italian security services. The previous tender was won by Seat, which delivered thousands of Leons to various cities, including Verona, between 2015 and 2018.
