Just 10 lessors control 73% of Dutch market

Almost three quarters of the Dutch vehicle leasing market is controlled by just 10 lease companies, a recent study by Aumacon finds.

The fourth consecutive annual Dutch Lease Company Top 100 by Aumacon – an independent knowledge centre for the Dutch automotive industry – shows the 10 largest lessors in the Netherlands have tightened their grip on the lease market.

Strongest growth
While LeasePlan remains the largest player on the Dutch market, ALD Automotive has produced the strongest growth – mainly thanks to its success on the private lease market.

“Lease companies are of major importance to the automotive industry. They already represent at least 45% of all new-vehicle sales and are the main customer category for the vehicle maintenance and repair sector”, says Clem Dickmann, owner/CEO of Aumacon (pictured left, handing over the first copy of this year’s Lessor Top 100 to Jeroen Kruisweg, General Manager of ALD Automotive Netherlands).

Top 10 in full
Just for comparison’s sake: the Top 10 of vehicle dealership groups in the Netherlands represents just 30% of all new-vehicle sales in the country.
