Arval gives a boost to UK Hydrogen Trials
UK-based fleet management and leasing specialist Arval is ramping up support for Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles by adding 10 new company cars to the Hydrogen Hub trial.
The initiative is being boosted by the addition of a second refuelling station near the company’s head office in Swindon, Wiltshire.
Demonstrating fuel cell viability
The trial, which is a little over a year old, aims to demonstrate the viability of fuel cell technology across a range of domestic, commercial and transport applications in the Swindon area.
Arval already has six company cars from Hyundai and Toyota involved, which are in operation for The Science Museum, Nationwide Building Society, Johnson Matthey and Arval itself.
Additional refuelling station
The new fuelling station has been opened at the offices of Johnson Matthey, an international company manufacturing fuel cell components. An existing fuel station is located at the nearby Honda car production facility.
Arval is hoping the trial will provide valuable information it can pass on to customers about the practicalities of operating hydrogen fleet vehicles.
