MotorEasy provides fixed cost maintenance and warranty products for UK drivers

Fleet drivers opting out of their company cars in the UK can still enjoy the peace of mind of fixed cost maintenance and repair plans, and warranties, thanks to a new Anglo-Dutch partnership.

MotorEasy has teamed up with Netherlands-based AutoTrust to create subscription-style warranty and maintenance plans for used car buyers. The plans will be sold through franchises and independent dealers.

Machine learning benefit

AutoTrust’s machine learning system which underpins the new warranty and maintenance products is already live in the Benelux region. Opel is using the maintenance subscription model in the Netherlands, and Peugeot has adopted the warranty scheme.

The machine learning aspect of AutoTrust’s system automatically analyses real claims data to accurately predict the cost of a warranty at any given point of a vehicle’s life. Relying on machines rather than humans to make these calculations will save costs, according to MotorEasy.

New flexible product

Duncan McClure Fisher, CEO of MotorEasy, said, “The extended warranty market for approved schemes has been stale, uncompetitive and costly to administer. Driven by machine-learning, we can now offer a truly flexible product that directly appeals to the needs of the franchised model.”

MotorEasy has a network of 10,000 independent garages in the UK that deliver MOT, servicing and repair services.

AutoTrust director, Gerben van Dam, added: “Both the warranty and maintenance subscription products have been specifically designed and developed for Approved Used Car schemes. Importantly, it can be rolled out quickly to minimise any disruption to the network. In the case of Opel, it took us just three months to be live.”
