Positive trend for new LCV registrations in Europe
The Light Commercial Vehicle market is doing well in 2019. ACEA, the association representing the car manufacturers in Europe, released new market figures that show a positive trend in new commercial vehicle sales.
In May 2019, new Light Commercial Vehicle registrations continued to increase in the EU (+5.8%), compared to the same month in 2018. With the exception of Spain, all major EU markets recorded solid growth in May. Germany (+23.5%) showed the highest increase again, while France (+9.5%), the UK (+5.4%) and Italy (+5.1%) followed with single-digit percentages.
Five months into the year, registrations of new light commercial vehicles grew by 5.9% to reach 908,291 vehicles sold. Each of the largest markets made a positive contribution to the region's overall performance: Germany (+14.7%), the United Kingdom (+7.5%), France (+6.9%), Italy (+6.0%) and Spain (+3.8%).
