Electric Opel Movano coming in 2021

Following the lead of the Vivaro, the next-gen Movano will be available as an all-electric LCV when it launches next year. It is the OEM’s goal to have a BEV version of each of its LCV models by 2021. Indeed, the future Opel Combo will also make room in its belly for a pack of lithium ion cells.  

On a group level, PSA intends to build their own battery packs in a joint venture with Total starting 2023. Opel’s plant in Kaiserslautern will be transformed to a “Gigafactory” to this effect.
