ALD returns to China with Wheels and new partner Shouqi

Only a few months after leasing and business mobility specialist ALD announced to sell its stake in ALD Fortune, its joint-venture in China, the French-based leasing giant returns to China. Together with its global alliance partner Wheels Inc., ALD starts a partnership with Shouqi Car Rental & Leasing (Shouqi) in China to provide automotive leasing and fleet management services to global corporations in China.

The partnership fits into the ALD-Wheels strategy to increase coverage in Asia, having announced just a few weeks ago their entrance on the Japanese vehicle leasing market. By increasing its commercial alliances in geographies where ALD and Wheels do not have a direct presence, the global alliance allows clients to access 13 additional countries, representing 56 countries overall, through a network of coordinated partnerships.

The partnership with Shouqi includes cross referrals, common participation to global fleet tenders, comprehensive fleet services such as fuel provision, insurance, accident management, and global fleet reporting using the ALDNet.com platform.
Ensuring quality service  “After our recent exit from the Chinese market, as anticipated, we are very pleased to announce our partnership with Shouqi.  As a leading player in the market, Shouqi is well positioned to provide good quality full service leasing services for our global clients in China while offering a comprehensive suite of mobility solutions, tailored advice and consistent reporting solutions,” said Tim Albertsen (pictured left), Chief Executive Officer of ALD.

"Shouqi is a reliable and client-focused fleet management provider with a strong presence in China. We are delighted to welcome them into the Alliance,” said Dan Frank (pictured right), President and CEO of Wheels. “Maintaining coverage in China as we expand our reach across Asia ensures seamless service for our global clients.”

“As a leading car leasing company in China, Shouqi is delighted to join the ALD & Wheels Global Alliance founded 10 years ago by renowned leasing companies. Within the Alliance we can share industry experience and provide high level quality and reliable car services to global corporate clients,” said Junwei Yang, President of Shouqi.

At the end of March 2020, ALD had 1.78 million vehicles under management, Wheels has a fleet management portfolio of more than 325,000 vehicles in North America.
