Lease registrations up 20% in the Netherlands
In 2018, the number of lease registrations in the Netherlands went up 20.4%, reports automotive data specialist RDC.
In all, 443,000 vehicles were registered in 2018. The lease market accounts for 47% of all registrations, compared to 42% a year earlier.
Volkswagen leads the OEM ranking with 14.1% of the market, followed by Renault (8.7%) and Opel (8%).
Indicative of high vehicle taxation in the country, the most popular cars are small. The ranking is led by the Volkswagen Polo (4.4%), its big brother Golf (3.1%) and the Kia Picanto (3%).
