No free transport for all in Paris

Following many months of reflection, Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo has decided that there will not be free transport for all in the city. There are to be some categories of persons which will receive free transport, however. Firstly, in the case of company employees, the Paris Mayor is suggesting that public transport tickets are reimbursed at 100% rather than 50%, for the lowest paid members of staff at least.

On top of this, handicapped Paris residents of under 20 years of age will receive the Navigo pass free of charge, and school children will benefit from free public transport up to 11 years old, from the next school year.
